A better cable will definitely give you better sound. Don't let anyone con you into believing that this is a farce, that anything will work. A lot of people say this is hogwash, but the very first time I went from a standard subwoofer cable to a Monster cable, the difference was immediate and huge. My subwoofer started putting out sound like I had never had before.
I was impressed with the snug fit of the cable on both the receiver and the sub. I am very pleased with this purchase. I am not a Monster brand "junkie" but I did think this particular product provided the best value for my money, especially compared to prices of similar products in retail stores. It is a well built product. I am using the cable with a Yamaha 863 receiver and Micro Energy speaker/sub package. The sound is very clean.
The cable is plenty long for my application. The jack grabs the plug on my subwoofer well giving it a good tight fit. I would recommend buying this cable. I'm no cable expert and I didn't want to spent a lot of money. This cable fit the bill in terms of cost, quality and length.
I'm not a stickler for brand names, but Monster makes a good product. It was prices right and the length was good. I needed a new cable to connect the subwoofer to the surround sound system. This was perfect for me.
My sub thumps.Cord is real thick & again, my sub thumps - it is doing its job.
